Indonesia, Flooding in Tegal (Central Java)

➢ Chronology: Triggered by high intensity rain which gradually lasted for quite a long time on Sunday 04 February 2024 at 16:00 WIB, causing the Kumisik river to overflow into residential areas and the Tegal - Purwokerto road access

➢ Location: Margasari District
• North Prupuk Village
• Kaligayam Village
• Pakulaut Village
• Kalisalak Village

➢ Casualties:
• ±363 families / 1,453 people affected and displaced (Still collecting data)

➢ Material Losses:
• 75 housing units submerged (Still collecting data)
• TMA reaches ±70 cm

➢ Effort:
• Tegal Regency BPBD coordinates with local sub-district/village authorities to collect data
• BPBD Tegal Regency distributes basic food logistics (food) in Kaligayam & Prupuk Village, Margasari District
• The establishment of a public kitchen has been carried out by the local Village Government

➢ Current Conditions:
• Evacuate fallen trees on Jl. Jatibarang and Margasari
• Some of the residents who evacuated were at Mr. Wahyu, Head of the North Prupuk Village Finance section and several others have returned to their homes & are cleaning up post-flood materials
• Flood waters have receded
