Indonesia, Flooding in Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java Province

Heavy rain that flushed the Tasikmalaya Regency area throughout Sunday (11/10) night to Monday (12/10) in the morning, resulted in 11 districts being hit by floods and landslides. As a result, road access to regencies, sub-districts, and villages, including houses of residents, was hit by landslides and was flooded. One elderly person, a resident of Malatisuka Village, Gunungtanjung District, reported died because his house was hit by a landslide.

Landslides occurred in Parungponteng Subdistrict in two villages of Karyabakti and Cigunung which resulted in closed road access, two houses being hit by landslides and others being threatened. The floods also occured in Girijaya Village, Bojongasih Subdistrict, resulted in submerged road access and residents' houses.

Landslide also occurred in Mandalawangi Village, Salopa Subdistrict, which closes the Gunungtanjung-Salopa highway access. Floods in Cipatujah Subdistrict in Bantarkalong Village caused roads and houses to be submerged.

Floods in Sodonghilir Subdistrict, Sepatnunggal Village, submerged road access and residents' settlements, so that village road access was cut off. Including in Cukangkawung Village, landslides hit and damaged two houses belonging to residents.

Furthermore, landslides in Ciwarak Village, Jatiwaras District caused several residents' houses to be moderately damaged and others threatened. Landslides in Sirnajaya Village, Sukaraja District resulted in several houses being hit by landslide materials.

Landslide in Sukamaju Village, Bantarkalong Subdistrict, which blocked village road access. Then a landslide in Cibalanarik Village, Tanjungjaya District, three houses were hit by landslide material. Floods in Cikupa Village, Karangnunggal Subdistrict, which caused village road access and residential areas to be partially submerged.
