Description

JAKARTA - Flooding with a one meter high water level, hit part of the region in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan on Saturday (11/7). Floods triggered by high rainfall that has fallen from morning to evening resulted in 1,349 houses submerged in water.

According to the monitoring of the Local Emergency Management Agency (BPBD) of the Tanah Laut Regency, on Saturday (11/7) at 20.00 West Indonesia Time, the total reported impact of the flood disaster was 1,535 families and 5,112 people spread in three districts, namely

Pelaihari Subdistrict which covers Sarang Halang, Karang Taruna, Angsau and Atu-atu villages.

Bajuin District, which was affected by the flood was the village of Galam.

Flooding also occurred in Damit Hulu village, Batu Ampar sub-district.

Besides submerging residents' houses, some infrastructure was affected. In the district of Sarang Halang, there is a bridge that collapsed due to the swift flow of river water. Meanwhile two roads have been cut off and vehicles cannot be passed in Damit Hulu Village and Galam Village.

The details of the affected area include
1. Kelurahan Angsau, Kec. Pelaihari:
a. Jl. Floodgate Rt. 24 Ex. Angsau, 200 houses, 250 families, 1,200 lives
b. Jl. A. Yani Parit Mas Rt. 19 Rt. 20 and Rt.27 Ex. Angsau, 550 houses, 600 families, 1,500 people
c. Jl. Agree Rt.10 (Company Back) Ex. Angsau, 65 houses, 70 families, 300 people
d. Gg. Thanks to Rt.04 Kel Angsau 25 houses, 30 families, 100 lives
e. Jl. Manunggal (Rear Ex. H. Boejasin Hospital), Rt 15, Ex. Angsau, 4 houses, 4 families, 20 souls.
Total inundated houses = 844 houses
Total KK and Soul = 954 KK, 3,120 People

2. Atu-Atu Village, Kec. Pelaihari:
a. Jl. HM Jaferi, Atu-Atu Village, 25 houses, 35 families, 100 people
b. Saka Permai, Atu-Atu Village, 15 houses, 25 families, 160 souls
Total inundated houses = 40 houses
Total KK and Soul = 60 KK, 260 Soul
3. Karang Taruna Urban Village, Kec. Pelaihari:
a. Jl. Telaga Daim Blok I, II, III, and Jl. Lighting Rt 10, Ex. Karang Taruna, 104 houses, 135 families, 540 people
4. Kelurahan Sarang Halang, Kec. Pelaihari:
a. Jl. Bajingah, Kelurahan Sarang Halang, the Bridge collapsed due to the swift flow of river water.
5. Desa Damit Hulu, Kec. Batu Ampar:
a. Jl. Trans 100, Rt 6, Damit Hulu Village, the existence of Jalan Putus due to heavy swells of water with a length of 70 meters.
6. Desa Galam, Kec. Clothes:
a. Desa Galam, Rt 6, Roads are eroded so that the road breaks cannot be passed by vehicles.

BPBD Kab. Tanah Laut, TNI / Polri, and other volunteers have taken to the field to help evacuate and collect data from flood-stricken residents.

Seeing the analysis from InaRISK, Kab. Tanah Laut has a potential flood hazard with moderate to high category. The area of ​​danger due to flooding covers 137 thousand hectares in eleven districts. While in terms of risk, thirty-eight percent of the population or around 123,172 people in these eleven districts has the potential to be affected by flooding.

The public is advised to be vigilant and be prepared to face potential hydrometeorological disasters, such as floods, landslides and flash floods. Rain with high intensity and lasts long enough can be one indicator in responding to community preparedness.
