Description
In Central Java, flooding affected Sukoharjo Regency on Sunday night (22 February) following prolonged heavy rainfall. Floodwaters inundated three subdistricts—Polokarto, Mojolaban, and Grogol. One resident suffering from a stroke died after being evacuated to a hospital.
As of the latest report, 13 households have been displaced and are temporarily sheltering in Bakalan Village and the Klatak embankment area. As a precautionary measure, the local government has also prepared an additional evacuation site at Jatiteken embankment. A total of 46 houses and 7 road access points were affected, while joint response teams from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) continue to conduct rapid assessments and distribute basic relief assistance at the affected locations.
