Description

Heavy rain that poured down on the Pandeglang area on Friday (18/4), caused the Cikuncil River, which is a tributary of the Cisata River, to overflow and cause flooding in three sub-districts. The incident that occurred at around 02.00 WIB this morning had a significant impact on a number of houses and livestock of residents in several villages. Based on the data collected, the flood hit three sub-districts, namely Menes Sub-district (Sindangkarya Village), Jiput Sub-district (Sampangbitung Village), and Pulosari Sub-district (Banjarnegara Village).

As a result of this disaster, 61 Heads of Families (KK) were reported to be affected. Sad news enveloped, where one person died due to being swept away by the river current, namely an 18-month-old child. The material losses incurred were quite large, with a total of 61 houses affected by the flood. The details are 26 houses affected in Menes District, 14 houses affected in Pulosari District, and 21 houses affected in Cisata District.

In addition to damaging homes, the flood also caused a number of residents' livestock to be swept away and several homes were hit by trees due to the strong currents. The Pandeglang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) moved quickly to coordinate with related parties to conduct an assessment of the impact of the flood. The current conditions on Friday (18/4) showed that the water in most of the affected areas had gradually receded. The Pandeglang Regency BPBD continues to monitor developments in the situation and provide assistance needed by affected residents. The public is advised to remain vigilant against potential hydrometeorological disasters given the uncertain weather conditions.
