Description
Chronology: On Friday, 9 January 2026, at 14:00 WIB, heavy rainfall caused a significant increase in water levels in the Macak River and Lempuing River, resulting in the inundation of residential areas in Lempuing Sub-district. Residents were evacuated to safer locations. Preliminary data indicate that approximately 9 villages in Lempuing Sub-district were affected, with water depths of around 30–170 cm. Impacts in Mesuji Sub-district have not yet been fully assessed and coordination with the sub-district authorities is ongoing
