Flooding in Mojokerto Regency, East Java Province
➢ Update: Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 6:00 PM WIB
➢ Chronology: On Friday, March 20, 2026, at approximately 2:00 PM–3:30 PM WIB, heavy rain fell in Mojokerto Regency, causing a significant increase in water discharge. Drainage capacity was unable to accommodate the flow, causing embankments to burst, resulting in flooding in residential areas and village access roads with water levels ranging from 30 to 100 cm.

➢ Casualties: ● ± 333 families affected (data collection) ● 275 people took refuge independently in neighbors' homes (data collection) ➢ Material Losses: ● ± 333 houses affected (data collection) ● 1 embankment collapsed by ± 15 m ● ± 61.5 ha of rice fields affected (data collection) ● ± 3 access roads affected
➢ Efforts: ● Personnel from the East Java Provincial BPBD and the Mojokerto Regency BPBD conducted an assessment and coordinated with local village officials.
Personnel from the East Java Provincial BPBD and the Mojokerto Regency BPBD monitored the water level at the scene. ● The East Java Provincial BPBD and the Mojokerto Regency BPBD monitored the water level at the scene. Mojokerto and the elements involved evacuated the affected residents to a safe place and prepared 2 fiber boats to support the evacuation process at the scene ● BPBD Kab. Mojokerto carried out water suction using pumps to reduce the flood discharge at the affected location. ● Visit of the Regent of Mojokerto Regency to the affected residents in order to distribute logistical assistance on Saturday, March 21, 2026 ● BPBD Kab. Mojokerto provides clean water assistance to flood-affected residents ● Activation of the Social Service's Tagana Public Kitchen (preparing 1,350 packages of rice packets to be distributed to flood-affected residents (per cooking) ● DLH toilet and rest car on standby near Tinggarbuntut Village Hall ● Mojokerto Regency BPBD Team on standby at the scene to monitor the flood.

- Jumeneng Village, Mojoanyar District: Floodwaters have receded in Balong Cangkring and Kuripan Hamlets, with the water level gradually receding, with a water level of approximately 15-35 cm.
- Tinggarbuntut Village, Bangsal District: Floodwaters are slowly receding, with a water level of approximately 10-40 cm.
- Jotangan Village, Mojosari District: Floodwaters have risen, with a water level of approximately 40-50 cm. (Water pumps are not turned on.)
- Kedunggempol Village, Mojosari District: Water levels on village roads have completely receded.
