Description
heavy rains on Tuesday (11/2) caused flooding in Maros Regency, inundating 14 sub-districts and 66 villages. The flood damaged 3,451 hectares of rice fields and submerged several main roads, such as the Makassar-Maros Highway. As a result, the disaster led to the deaths of 2 people, with one person still missing. A total of 185,279 people were forced to evacuate and were directly affected by the flood. Other material losses included damaged roads and public facilities in several affected areas. Currently, the floodwaters have begun to recede, although evacuation efforts are still ongoing.
