Indonesia, Flooding in Indragiri Hulu (Riau)

➢ Chronology: Triggered by high rainfall accompanied by the overflowing of the Indragiri river resulting in flooding on Monday 01 January 2024, at 05:00 WIB

➢ Location: Rengat District, Pulau Gajah Village

➢ Casualties: 417 families / 2,048 people affected & 80 people displaced (Rengat District)

➢ Material Losses:
● 294 housing units affected
● 1 educational facility affected
● 3 worship facilities affected
● 3 public facilities affected

➢ Effort:
● BPBD Indragiri Hulu Regency coordinates with the local Subdistrict/Village Government to collect data
● BPBD Indragiri Hulu Regency carries out patrols around flood areas
● BPBD Indragiri Hulu Regency set up tents in Hamlet I, Pulau Gajah Village
➢ Current Conditions: Water is starting to recede ± 3 cm from previous conditions
