Description
Floods inundated a number of low-lying areas in Muara Teweh Town, North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan. The Barito River overflow during April 29-30 was increasingly widespread with variations ranging from 75 centimeters to 2 meters. Residential areas and roads in Muara Teweh that were flooded included Panglima Batur Street, Merak Street, Dahlia Street, Imam Bonjol Street, Cempaka Putih Street, and Pangeran Antasari Street. In the trade area, shops, hotels and banks were flooded. The area that was submerged by flooding besides in Muara Teweh Town was also dozens of other villages scattered in several districts on the edge of the Barito River including Montallat District. Flooding also inundated the following sub-districts: Central Teweh, Gunung Timang, South Teweh, Montallat, Teweh Baru, and East Teweh and the following villages: Ruji Village, Kamawen Village, Tumpung Laung II Village, Montallat I Laehi I; Lahei II villages (Lahei Sub-district) ~ 150 houses Karamuan Village (West Lahei Sub-district) Benao Hilir Village (Benao Hilir Sub-district) In Karamuan Village the height reaches from 1 meter to 1.5 meters depending on the land stalks and the submerged houses of around 10 houses
