Indonesia, Flooding in Asahan (North Sumatera)

➢ Chronology: Triggered by high intensity rain on Saturday, 16 December 2023, at 19.25 WIB

➢ Location:
● Tinggi Raja District
- Sidomulyo VIllage
- Terusan Tengah Village
- Teladan Village
● Buntu Pane District
- Ambalutu Village

➢ Casualties:
● 334 families / 1,004 people affected

➢ Material Losses:
● ±334 housing units affected
● 6 worship facilities affected
● connecting roads between affected villages

➢ Effort:
● BPBD Asahan carried out direct inspections in the field to inventory of those affected and damage to infrastructure facilities.
● Identify possible subsequent impacts that may occur, as well urge residents to be prepared for disasters.
● Coordinate with Village officials, District officials and related parties others for Disaster Preparedness Posts.
● Appeal to the public not to stay at home if waterlogging conditions increase.
