Indonesia, Flooding and Landslide in Pinrang (South Sulawesi)

➢ Chronology: Triggered by high intensity rain so causing the Saddang river to overflow and due to the strong current of the river causing the river shoulder to erode which threatens settlements and agricultural land along the river in 3 sub-districts on Friday 03 May 2024 at 03:00 WITA

➢ Location: Lembang District • Betteng Village • Letta Village Patampanua District • Sipatuo Village • Teppo Village Duampanua District • Bababinanga Village • Bababinanga Village Tiroang District • Samaturue Village Cempa District • Salipolo Village • Sikkuale Village

➢ Impacts: • ±1,121 families / 3,721 people affected

➢ Material Losses: • 101 housing units were submerged • 100 housing units are threatened by landslides • 1,607 Hectares of rice fields were submerged • 45 Hectares of plantations were submerged • 700 hectares of agricultural land is threatened by landslides • 30 meters of river embankment collapsed • The water level reaches ±50 - 150 cm

➢ Effort: • BPBD Pinrang Regency coordinates with PLTA Bakaru, TNI-POLRI apparatus, Basarnas, PUPR UPT Gunung Service, PSDA Service, BBWS Pomjen and local government to carry out data collection

➢ Current Condition: • The flood is currently gradually receding
