Indonesia, Flooding and Landslide in Langkat (North Sumatera)

➢ Chronology: Triggered by high intensity rain resulting in overflow river and small ditch in PTPN 2 Padang Tualang Gardens on Monday, 25 December 2023, at 18.00 WIB

➢ Location:
● Sawit Seberang District
- Sawit Hulu Village
- Afdeling Satu Village
● Padang Tualang District
- Jatisari Village
- Sido Dadi Village
- Tanjung Putus Village

➢ Casualties:
● 160 families/ 550 people affected

➢ Material Losses:
● 160 housing units were submerged
● road that connects the Sawit Seberang Subdistrict Office with Sawit Hulu Village/District. Sei is buried in Lepan, 50 meters long, 20 meters wide and 15 meters deep
● TMA 10 - 50 cm

➢ Effort:
● Coordination with sub-district and village authorities.
● Coordinate with TRC PB Multisector
● Coordinate with PUPR Langkat regarding landslides.
● Coordinate with the Health Service for services health.
● Providing assistance to affected communities through the sub-district head village head.
● Monitor and inform BMKG early warning reports to Subdistrict and Subdistrict/Village Heads.
