Description
National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) reported flooding in Tegal city, Tegal Regency and Brebes Regency, Central Java on 12 February 2018. The flooding was caused by high intensity of rain and overflow of Pemali River. BNPB also reported that the flood has caused 2 death casualties. At least 4 districts in Tegal city have been inundated with water level measured at around 50-150 cm. BNPB spokeperson reported more than 1000 people evacuated. In Bayeman water station, water level measured at 285 cm (from maximum water level of 250 cm). In Tegal regency, six districts were affected, namely Slawi, Pangkah, Adiwerna, Tarub, Kramat and Dukuhwaru. Adiwerna district was the most affected with water level measured at 1.5 meter. At least one house have been destroyed due to the flooding. One school in Adiwerna district was also damaged due to high water level.
