Chronology: • Due to high-intensity rain, the Sembakung river overflowed watershed on Friday, January 8, 2021, at 06.00 WITA. UPDATE: Tuesday, 19 January 2021, at 11:10 WIB Location: Sub-District: Sembakung Village: Atap, B. Bagu, Labuk, Pagar, Tujung, M. Bungkul, Lubakan, Tagul, Pelaju, Tepian. Fatalities : • 661 families / 2,752 people affected Material Disadvantages: • 553 housing units submerged • 1 mosque unit submerged • 1 integrated health post unit submerged • 1 unit of pustu (auzilary puskesmas) submerged • ± 115 Ha of submerged rice fields • 2 Ha of submerged gardens • water surface height: 100 cms Action: • BPBD Nunukan District coordinates with Muspika, related agencies and community leaders of Sembakung for further management. • BPBD conducts evacuation of affected residents. • BPBD conducts data collection at the location as well as prepares evacuation facilities and infrastructure. • BPBD establishes public kitchens for affected residents. • BPBD has advised residents to be more aware of the potential for an increase in river water discharge which could occur at any time.
