➢ Chronology: Triggered by moderate to high intensity rain that poured over some areas, causing the water discharge of the Laa River to increase and causing flooding to occur on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 07.00 WITA
➢ Location: (2 Sub-districts / 7 Villages) ● West Petasia District - Sampalowo Village - Moleono Village - Ulula'a Village - Togo Village - Onepute Village ● East Petasia District - Bunta Village - Tompira Village
➢ Casualties: ● 1,607 families / 5,793 people affected, with details: ● West Petasia District - Sampalowo Village - Moleono Village - Ulula'a Village - Togo Village - Onepute Village Ulula'a: 160 families / 490 people affected - Togo Village: 281 families / 940 people affected - Onepute Village: 209 families / 695 people affected - Sampalowo Village: 86 families / 286 people affected - Moleono Village: 113 families / 313 people affected ● Petasia Timur District - Bunta Village: 354 families / 1,233 people affected - Tompira Village: 205 families / 775 people affected ● 105 families / 229 people displaced, with details: ● Petasia Timur District - Bunta Village: 553 families / 2,294 people displaced - Tompira: 10 families / 36 people evacuated
➢ Material Losses: ● ± 1,408 houses affected ● ± 237 houses submerged ● 13 education facilities affected
● 12 facilities affected ● 2 health facilities affected ● 3 market units affected
➢ Efforts: ● Conducting Assessments, Coordinating with the local village government, Monitoring water level conditions, Monitoring conditions at the location of the incident, Assisting in the handling process at the location of the incident ● Public Kitchen will be moved to Bunta Village ● Opening a health service post for refugees by the District Health Office. North Morowali ➢ Status: ● SK TD is still under consideration awaiting further developments
➢ Field Constraints: ● Weak communication signal (cause of mountainous geography) ● Access to affected locations ● Access to locations causing disasters, including several locations still have vegetation blockages due to massive and poorly controlled mining activities (nickel) ● Several riverbanks do not yet have embankments to hold back river overflows ● There is no ideal river early warning device (weak EWS). The disaster cycle occurs every beginning towards the end of the year

➢ Current Conditions: Thursday, March 27, 2025 ● Weather: Sunny-Cloudy in the Mountains ● River water levels are still high. At 3 points of the provincial road there are still overflowing in the afternoon towards evening TMA 15-30 cm along approximately 30-100m ● Social and Public Service Activities are starting to return to normal (stable) ● Basic needs: sufficient (stable) ● Floods have not receded
