Indonesia, Flood in Deli Serdang (North Sumatra)

➢ Chronology:
Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 04.00 WIB there was a flood triggered by heavy rain for ± 6 hours in Pematang Johar Village and Paluh Manan Village. causing the water of the Kera River and Darma Bakti River to overflow into the residential areas around the TKBM housing complex & around the Paluh Manan Village settlement. With the water level inside the houses in Pematang Johar Village ±10-50 cm and Paluh Manan Village around ±20-50 cm

● Labuhan Deli District
- Pematang Johar Village
● Hamparan Perak District
- Paluh Manan Village

➢ Casualties:
● 321 families / 1,088 people affected with details:
- Labuhan Deli District, Pematang Johar Village: 300 families / 1,020 people
- Hamparan Perak District, Paluh Manan Village: 21 families / 68 people
● 10 elderly people affected
● 15 toddlers affected

➢ Material Losses:
● ± 5 Ha of rice fields affected in Pematang Johar Village

➢ Efforts:
● BPBD Deli Regency Serdang coordinated with the village head of hamlet VII Pematang Johar and the head of hamlet VIl Paluh Manan Village.
● BPBD Deli Serdang Regency reviewed the disaster location and conducted a rapid assessment.
