Flood in Berau Regency, East Kalimantan Province
➢ Update: Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 21.00 WIB
➢ Chronology: Monday, March 25, 2025 at 21.30 WITA a flood occurred triggered by high intensity rain causing the Kelay River to overflow with very strong currents causing flooding
➢ Location: ● Sambaliung District - Tumbit Dayak Village - Long Lanuk Village - Inaran Village - Bena Baru Village - Pegat Baru Village - Labanan Makarti Village ● Teluk Bayur District - Tumbit Melayu Village - Labanan Makarti Village ● Kelay District - Merasa Village ● Segah District - Siduung Village ● Kelay District -
➢ Losses: ● ±2,084 families / 6,151 people affected ● 2 MD individuals, a.n: - Yea Deng / 70 years old - Lajiu Langa / 68 years old
➢ Material Losses: ±636 houses affected (data collection)
➢ Efforts: ● BPBD of Berau Regency coordinates with related agencies and conducts assessments ● BPBD of Berau Regency establishes 2 Field Posts in Tumbit Melayu and Pegat Bukur

➢ Current Conditions: ● Floods have not receded ● Information from BMKG, For residents who live around coastal areas and river basins, please be aware of the potential for tidal flooding during high tide. ● March 30, 2025 in the morning at 07.00 - 10.00 WITA with a height of 2.4 - 2.7 meters. And at night at 20.00 - 22.00 WITA with a height of 2.4 - 2.7 meters. ● The highest tide on March 31, 2025 in the morning at 07.00 - 10.00 WITA with a height of 2.1-2.9 meters. And at night at 20.00 - 23.00 WITA with a height of 2.2 - 2.6 meters.
