Description
Floods were reported in two regencies in Aceh Province on 11-12 October 2018, namely in Aceh Singkil and West Aceh Regency. On 11 October around 1800 hrs local time, villages in eight districts in Aceh Singkil Regency were flooded. The flooded areas were in Suro, Simpang Kanan, Singkohor, Kota Baharum, Gunung Meriah, North Singkil, Danau Paris, and Singkil districts. In total 812 families / 3,019 people were affected due to inundation in their settlement, public facilities, and road access. The following day on 12 October, flood also occurred in West Aceh Regency, affecting villages in four districts, namely Johan Pahlawan, Samatiga, Bubon, and Meureubo districts. A total of 125 families / 371 people were affected. There were no fatalities due to this incident.
