Description

The Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) received a report last Wednesday (2/9), the regency which borders East Java Province experienced a drought. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sragen Regency noted that the intensity of the rain decreased, causing the springs in this area to decrease. Drought has an impact on the availability of groundwater that can be used by local residents. Data per Saturday (19/9), BPBD identifies the victims affected by drought in its area of ​​up to 478 families or 1,697 people. The population is spread across six sub-districts, namely Jenar District (Ngepringan, Banyurip and Dawung Villages), Sukodono (Baleharjo Village), Sumberlawang District (Ngagortirto, Tlogotirto, Pagak and Ngargosari Villages), Tangen District (Dukuh and Katelan Villages), Miri District (Bagor and Gilirejo Villages) and Gesi District (Srawung Village). Responding to drought conditions, BPBD Sragen Regency has conducted a quick assessment and coordinated with related agencies. The local government has also distributed 42,000 liters of clean water. Drought management is generally pursued by distributing water to affected communities. BPBD has just distributed 14,000 liters, with details of 5,000 liters to Gesi District and the rest to villages in Sumberlawang District.
