The research work is conducted in Laos. Which are begining at long the roads No.13 North (Kasi – Phoukhoun District) Vientiane and Luangprabang Province. The main objective of this research is to investigate experimentally the effect of weathering processes on the characteristics of some weak rocks and soils. The effort primarily involves simulation of the weathering-induced degradation of rock and soil specimens, determination of the development of the rocks and soils at various stages of degradation which are criterion that can incorporate the weathering-related parameters. Feature more, for solving the problem and mitigation minimizes the determination will investigate for analyses by using X- Ray Diffraction (XRD) and X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) method analyses. For XRD carried out on twelve soils and three rock sample and XRF only twelve soil type’s sample. Therefore, all most mention of rock & soil types’ sample taken from research area in Laos. In an attempt at correlating the rock & soil with mineral compositions; a concept is proposed to describe the rock & soil degradation characteristics under the XRD & XRF analyses methods. After analyses, the result of this study will be interpreted and then we can know about mineral type and chemical composition that induces the weathering of parent material, soil and bedrock, which allows predicting the rock & soil as affected by weathering the result indicate that clay mineral group such as smectite, kaolonite, haloysite & clholite and quartz which is primarily mineral classified as high degree of weathering, primarily due to density of water content in soil but easily disintegrated by cyclic change of surrounding temperatures and time . Moreover, these data will be beneficial in enhancing of information in primarily investigation for controlling and triggering factors weathered by chemical and physical forms; these may cause into the induced on the slope instability in the study area. Therefore, this research is very important problems solution and it will be helpful in identifying this area susceptible on the slope instability, as well as to determine the landslide mitigation and minimize the hazardous area in the near future. Key words: landslide, weathered of soil erosion, bedrock, clay mineral analysis.
